Let’s face it. Owning a pet can be uber expensive. With food, vet bills, meds, and accessories, simply keeping your pet alive can cost an arm and a leg. Add to that the fact that dealing with a sick pet can take up a lot of your valuable time. Going above and beyond to spend money on pampering your pet is generally not a budget priority.

But what if you could both pamper your pet and, at the same time, lower your vet bills and medication costs while spending less time caring for and cleaning up after a sick pet? You’d want to know about that, right?

Well, you came to the right place. Medipets CBD for pets is a great way to pamper your pet. But what does pamper mean? It means helping your pet feel good and improving their quality of life. It means helping your pet relax and unwind. And the biggest part of pampering is food. In real estate, the saying is “location, location, location.” For pets, it’s “food, food, food!” Pets love nothing more than a tasty pet treat.

How CBD for pets works

To understand how CBD for pets can be part of your pet pampering protocol, it helps to understand where pet CBD comes from and how it works.

The technical name for CBD is cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is one of a family of compounds found in the essential oils of hemp flower. Scientists call these compounds cannabinoids. There are scores of cannabinoids.

Certain strains of hemp are cultivated to be particularly rich in CBD while having low levels of THC, the cannabinoid found in marijuana that causes a “high.” Hemp, by law, must cultivate CBD that contains less than 0.3 percent THC, and that’s why it's used to produce CBD oil.

CBD oil, which, as we said, is extracted from hemp flowers, is not to be confused with hemp seed oil which is derived from hemp seeds — in the same way that corn oil is made from corn seeds.

After the essential oils are extracted from hemp, the raw extract goes through a filtration, distillation, and refinement process to produce 99 percent pure CBD. This purified CBD is what we use to make MediPets pet CBD products.

It’s important to note that some competing CBD pet products contain a less refined form of CBD oil that contains compounds that can cause allergic reactions in your pets. It might be difficult to tell if the pet is experiencing a reaction. For that reason, it’s best to stick with products containing purified CBD.

So, back to the cannabinoids. All mammals — including humans, cats, dogs — actually produce cannabinoids naturally. This process happens in the central nervous system and the brain. Cannabinoids are released to modulate the activities of various systems of the body at a cellular level. Sometimes these cannabinoid systems get out of balance resulting in a variety of ailments.

Without going into a lot of science jargon, let’s just say that that’s where CBD comes in.

Pamper pets with CBD-powered pet treats

Assuming all else is good at home, a healthy pet is a happy pet. Not only is not feeling well a total bummer for a pet, having to be hauled out to the vet can be super stressful for your furry friend. Anything that can be done to avoid all that is pampering your pet.

But, by far, the best way to pamper a pet — at least as far as your pet is concerned — is to provide some between-meal treats. This is where MediPets really shines.

Pets live for two things — your attention, and FOOD! Nothing will make a dog sit, stay, and give you a paw faster than CBD pet treats. And as for cats, although most won’t do tricks at your command, cats do know how to show their appreciation and affection. And they don’t bark!

MeditPets CBD dog treats come in all of your dog’s favorite flavors. For example, Wavy Bacon & Cheese Bites are like the top two favorite dog flavors rolled into one. And getting Liver Meatballs CBD treats is like tacos on Tuesday for dogs.

For you cats, MediPets CBD Purrs & Puffs cat treats are flavored with the flavor cats favor — natural tuna fish. Even the most finicky felines love Purrs & Puffs CBD Cat Treats.

How to NOT pamper your pet with CBD

There are some things you should know when considering making CBD treats a part of your pet’s daily routine that can help you ensure that all goes well.

First, most importantly, don’t give your pet CBD oil made for humans. In addition to being much smaller than we are, they are much more sensitive to cannabinoids. Pet CBD products are formulated to deliver the proper serving size for cats and for dogs of various sizes. And they are formulated to avoid the use of additives that can harm pets. So make sure you get the right CBD oil product for your pet.

Also, never, ever give your pet marijuana or cannabis oil containing THC unless a vet specifically instructs you to do so. Pets are extremely sensitive to THC and even just a little bit can make them very sick.

And finally, experts suggest finding a daily dosage that works for your pet and stick to it. Don’t offer random occasional treats. Stick to the recommended schedule.

Let the pampering begin

As all pet owners know, a healthy pet is a less expensive pet — and, of course, a happier pet! Next time you want to make Rover rollover or Tabby less crabby just whip out one of these meaty morsels. And as far as they know, it’s just another scrumptious scrap from their beloved human.

You know how a dog or cat will sit there looking at you like, “are you going to eat that?” Well, isn’t it about time you answered, “No! I’m not! These are for you, pal!”
